Many SLPs have questions about whether ASHA CEUs are required to maintain the CCC and state license. While ASHA CEUs can be used, clinicians may also meet maintenance requirements through general continuing education or professional development hours (PDHs), which are accepted for CCC maintenance and state licensure in nearly all 50 states. The key distinction is that if a clinician chooses to use the ASHA CE Registry, only ASHA CEUs can be recorded using that service. However, if clinicians track their own continuing education independently, PDHs are sufficient. In these cases, it is important to maintain thorough documentation of completed coursework in the event of an audit for CCC or state licensure compliance. To determine if your state requires ASHA CEUs for state license maintenance, please contact your state board.

TIMS University courses are developed with an emphasis on clinical relevance and speaker expertise. Presenters are carefully selected based on their depth of knowledge in the topic area, advanced training, clinical and/or research experience, and professional credentials. We also consider prior speaking experience, contributions to the literature, and demonstrated ability to translate evidence into practical application. This approach ensures that each course is grounded in current evidence and delivered by clinicians and thought leaders who bring both credibility and real-world insight to the learning experience.
