Release Notes

  • Filmstrip Mode: With a single frame displayed in the series tab, enable Film Strip Mode to display the 4 frames both preceding and following the selected frame in a 3x3 grid. You can step frame-by-frame through the series and watch each frame advance accordingly. Adjust the frame offset to be either 1,2, 3, or 4 frames off from the initial frame, zoom in/out. Take a snapshot of the Film Strip and it can be added into your Report.

    Improved Study Dashboard:

    • New/Open: button is now a split button, with multiple options, depending on context, in a convenient dropdown menu.

    • Emergency Start: Available in both Worklist and Studies tabs. Emergency Start loads a new study with pre-populated study information so the user can select OK to start a new study. You can manually update the study with the correct patient information at any time, or match to a worklist entry with the Update Patient Info feature.

    • Update Patient Info: This existing feature has now been conveniently added to the New button dropdown in the worklist tab, simplifying the process.

    • New Study Based On: This existing feature has been conveniently added to the dropdown in the studies tab, and is available with a study selected.

    • Column Filters: Some columns now feature built in filtering. Hovering over these columns will reveal a dropdown menu which contains all unique entries in the column, selecting from this list will automatically filter the dashboard to display only items containing the selected data.

    • Export: Study export now has a dedicated button on the study dashboard, supporting single or multi-study export with a single click.

    • Delete: Study delete now has a dedicated button on the study dashboard. Supports single or multi-study delete.

    Reporting:

    • New Shortcut for Quickphrases: Entering .? in a report will now bring up quickphrase selection.

    • Multi-Quickphrase: You can now select multiple quickphrases from the popup to enter them in the order selected.

    Worklist Column Editor: You can now customize which worklist columns are displayed. For example, users can add the Performing Physician and Station Worklist Tags. This provides improved handling and customization for various users.

    Flag Similar Worklist Patient Names: If another entry or entries share the same last name and first initial, the selection color will populate orange, and the flagged similar patient name text will also turn from white to orange. These color changes provide a visual cue for the user identifying similar entries to enhance patient safety.

    Sharpness Overlay: Add a sharpness filter using the unsharp mask algorithm (Gaussian blur via SVG). Moving the slider adjusts the filter intensity.

    TIMS Send: For applications with very long studies such as surgical imaging, large studies of over 4GB (includes multi-hour studies recorded in MP4) can now be sent to TIMS Review systems using TIMS Send, rather than DICOM send which is limited by specification to 4GB per study. This enables the full TIMS Review workflow to edit and extract portions of these large studies for archiving and other applications.

  • General/Configuration

    • Updated DICOM classes window (for adding/removing DICOM tags).

    • Password fields have eyeball to show/hide password.

    • Image stacks added, stacking single frame images as same series number. Added for legacy MRI applications.

    • Notes, reporting, label set dropdowns all have Edit option now that take you right to the configuration window for each to make changes easier.

    • User label sets have been moved to global. All preexisting user labels will now show as “LABELSET NAME (USERTHATCREATEDIT)”.

    • TIMS Connect allows port range selection to enable IT team configuration (previously was a fixed range).

    • MWL auto refreshes every 60 seconds automatically.

    • Trigger support for new Optim ENTITY USB distal scope.

    • DO-NOT-PURGE keyword will “lock” the study from auto purge deletion.

    • Overall improved performance and responsiveness.

    Recording/Reviewing

    • Protocol mode for labeling is now always on.

    • Ctrl+Scroll Wheel on mouse now zooms on all tabs.

    • Ctrl+Shift+T, right click in a Series window, and right click in the Series Timer, will all copy the player timer to the Windows clipboard.

    • Export/copy image retains brightness/contrast/saturation changes before export/copy.

    • Scoring is active on the Live tab before even recording a series.

    • Compare shows keywords now in the dropdown for help finding the right study to compare to.

    • CTRL+4 shortcuts to Compare tab.

    • Advanced toolbar is defaulted to on.

    • Advanced Play controls panel (activate with gear icon) stays active until you close it.

    • Full screen mode button on Live Tab (same as F10).

    Sending/Receiving

    • Receive status now shows Study Date and Study Time.

    • Added Performing Physician DICOM tag to DICOM Encapsulated PDFs.

    Annotation Tools

    • Annotation Toolbar stays active until you close it.

    • New tool, Spray Can, which changes existing annotation to reflect changes you made in color and line weight.

    • Reset measurement to pixels by setting any measurement to 0 or deleting measurements.

    • Closing the measurement tool hides measurement data but keeps label displayed.

    • Perpendicular lines will snap together when drawing straight lines when you are close.

    • In measurements, new Selection Area entry at the bottom of the measurements list adds all areas together.

     Reporting

    • Dark Theme for Toolbar.

    • New table module.

    1. TIMS Compare: Significant enhancements including the ability to compare and play side-by-side two Series from either two different studies or two Series within the same study. Synced frame-by-frame analysis and playback.  Add a snapshot of the Compare to the current study and integrate into your report.

    2. TIMS Send: 2-10x faster than standard DICOM for sending studies in the background from the TIMS system in the procedure suite to the TIMS Review stations in the speech or endoscopy office area.

    3. Reporting and Notes: Reporting and Notes have an improved display and selection of lists with the ability to turn on/off table borders.

    4. Toggle Control: Added a toggle control to increase the size of the notes tab over 50% allowing for a better viewing experience.

    5. Measurements Copy/Paste: With Edit/Copy Measurements, you can now paste measurements as a table into your report, Notes, or any other Windows program. 

    6. Copy/Paste Timing: Right click on the stopwatch and you can paste the timing data directly into a report, Notes, or any other Windows program.

    7. Full Screen Mode: With a quick keyboard or menu toggle, increase the Live display to "full screen mode". This feature has been requested by many FEES and endoscopy users.

    8. Video Adjustments: For supported USB cameras and FEES scopes, video adjustments can now be made to contrast, brightness, black level, flip (requested for SLP vs. ENT settings for some scopes), mirror, and other supported settings (varies depending on the camera/scope).  The settings can be stored in the channel so they are saved for all future studies.

    9. Label Recall and Auto-population: TIMS remembers previous labels you have used and auto populates via type matching, and can select from your current label lists.

    10. Videoscope Support: Support for the ORL Videoscope PEDS for FEES.

    11. DICOM Receive: Improvements to DICOM Receive to better accommodate large multi-file FEES studies from portable single use scopes such as Ambu.

    1. Customized Reporting: Customized reporting includes themes, smart phrases, snapshots. PDF, print, send to PACS.

    2. Notes: Floating window for adding notes to the study, series, and snapshots. Integrated with reporting.

    3. PatientView: Support for a second video input (USB only) for showing the view of the patient as a picture-in-picture recording.

    4. Import/Export of Settings: Users can now import or export their TIMS settings. This is important for sites with multiple TIMS systems and TIMS Review workstations.

    5. Annotations: Apply annotations to any existing snapshot.

    6. Automatic Swallow Detection: Automatically determine whiteout occurrences, which occur during swallowing. Bookmark in the timeline for quick reference.

    7. Import Media Files (JPG & MP4): For importing older studies or studies from pathology, dermatology, surgery, etc. Edit, label, annotate, and send to PACS.

    8. Enhanced Triggering Mode for Endoscopy for Supported Scopes: Long press to start video recording, second long press to stop video recording. Short press at any time (even during video recording) to take snapshots.

    9. Updates to Freehand Mode: Feature to easily extend freehand mode in telestrations and measurement (ctrl-shift click)

    10. Largest Width: Find largest width feature for precise measurement calibration.

    11. Diagram Tool: Integrated diagram tool with snapshot for endoscopy reporting (patent-pending)

    1. MP4 Video Conversion: MP4 video conversion to JPG upon DICOM send for compatibility with PACS systems that do not support MP4 yet. Intended for longer format studies including FEES, general endoscopy, and surgical video.

    2. Editing Flexibility: Improved editing flexibility with split/combine, subclip creation, and compound clip creation (ability to combine multiple series into one larger series and change the temporal order).

    3. Channel Configuration: New and improved Channel Configuration with live video display, area of interest creation, audio detection, trigger detection, and pre-sets for MBS and FEES.

    4. Video Adjustments: Saturation adjustment for color video.

    5. Compare: Side-by-side study compare.

    6. Black Frame Elimination: Leading black frame automatic elimination for MBS studies

    7. Notes and Reporting Testing: Beta testing for notes and reporting (pre-authorized customers only).

    2. Customized Scoring and Rating: Users can now create custom scoring and rating tools.

    3. Measurement Tools: TIMS MVP 4.5 now includes measurement tools including area, distance, & velocity. Practical examples include residue, hyoid excursion and superior/anterior displacement, bolus velocity, and the timing of swallowing events. Telestrations and text labels can be added.
