Jenny Reynolds, PhD, CCC-SLP, CLC, CNT, BCS-S

Jenny Reynolds, PhD, CCC-SLP, CLC, CNT, BCS-S, is a speech-language pathologist and Advanced Clinical Specialist in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She is a Board-Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders with clinical and research expertise in pediatric dysphagia, infant feeding and swallowing, and Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). She is also a Certified Lactation Counselor and Certified Neonatal Therapist and is currently pursuing her Small Baby Certification. Dr. Reynolds is actively involved in clinical research within the NICU, with a particular focus on infant feeding and swallowing assessment including infant FEES. She serves as a co-investigator on multiple research studies, presents her work at national and international conferences, and publishes in peer-reviewed journals. She recently completed her PhD in Health Studies at Texas Woman's University.

She serves on the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Convention Programming Committee for the pediatric dysphagia strand, participates in the National Association of Neonatal Therapists Professional Collaborative, and is an adjunct lecturer for graduate speech-language pathology programs at local universities. Jenny also serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in foster care.

Description

This course advances the clinical application of Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) in infants by integrating current evidence, clinical reasoning, and case-based learning. Participants will explore key considerations for patient selection, procedural planning, and interpretation of physiologic swallowing findings during bottle and breastfeeding FEES examinations. Through real-world clinical cases, attendees will apply evidence-informed clinical reasoning to identify swallowing impairments, interpret findings within the broader medical and feeding context, and develop individualized recommendations to support safe, functional feeding and family-centered care.

Learning Outcomes

Integrate current evidence and clinical considerations to support appropriate patient selection and decision-making for infant FEES.
Apply clinical reasoning to interpret key physiologic findings observed during bottle-feeding and breastfeeding FEES examinations.
