The TIMS Collaborator is a patent pending, networked system for multiple healthcare providers to share and mark-up live and stored medical images and video. These physicians and consultants, who may be in different physical locations thousands of miles away, can collaborate and annotate the images and videos. This collaboration allows more than simple voice and video collaboration: interactive graphic overlays, with a different color for each participant, enable teaching and full graphic collaboration. Participants may also use interactive chat in their collaboration sessions. The annotated video or images that result from any of these collaboration sessions may be saved in DICOM format and sent to PACS so that a record of the consulting session or peer group meeting is archived for later retrieval or analysis. These collaboration sessions can take place with multiple live video sources from medical modalities and video sources such as pathology microscopes, operating room endoscopes, fluoroscopy systems, cardiac imaging devices, ultrasounds, and much more. Previous DICOM studies that are retrieved from PACS can be shared amongst multiple participants for annotation and collaboration.

The TIMS Collaborator provides a "disruptive" workflow innovation that changes how physicians, consultants, technicians, peer groups, and even payors work together toward better patient outcomes and more efficient clinical care. Multi-physician pathology tumor boards distributed across the country can now collaborate on pathology studies in real-time and arrive at joint conclusions more easily and much more cost-effectively. Sub-specialty radiologists can be consulted on studies as they are being performed rather than waiting until after the study has been completed and the patient has left the hospital. Specialty surgeons from teaching hospitals can consult at remote hospitals by viewing and telestrating on the live OR endoscopic video at full 1080p HD video resolution, and all from the comfort of their own offices. The TIMS Collaborator completely changes the rules of healthcare  delivery and diagnostic imaging. Cross-functional teams can now quickly and effectively share ideas and collaborate on live diagnostic imaging procedures and surgeries, while all being at multiple physical locations. The resulting annotated studies can be saved as DICOM and archived to PACS for a permanent record. The end result is lower cost, more efficient clinical care, and better patient outcomes.
