Foresight Imaging Releases New TIMS 500 DICOM System and Upgraded Software

(Lowell, MA – November 25, 2007) Foresight Imaging announces a new addition to the TIMS DICOM System product line:  the TIMS 500 DICOM System.  The TIMS 500 is a new, lower cost TIMS DICOM System for converting any non-DICOM medical modality to DICOM.  The TIMS 500 captures images from any medical modality, converts to DICOM, and sends the resulting study to PACS.  The TIMS 500 is available for $8,995 including onsite installation and training.

In addition, Foresight Imaging releases version 2.1 which adds several feature enhancements to its flagship TIMS 2000 product for static and motion video non-DICOM to DICOM conversion.  Some of these enhancements include:  a stop watch interval timer (requested by speech pathology applications); pre-defined lists for study description, referring physicians, and requesting physicians; improved study editing; image inversion; and much more.

“We are very excited about our new TIMS 500 release and the productivity enhancements in version 2.1 of the TIMS software.  The TIMS 500 lowers the cost of ownership for our customers who only require static frame capture for their PACS connectivity solution,” said Tony Molinari, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Foresight Imaging.

About the TIMS DICOM System
Hospitals and imaging clinics around the world need to convert their non-DICOM medical modalities to DICOM.  Upgrading or replacing these modalities is too expensive, often costing hundreds of thousands of dollars.  PACS is a large enough expense in and of itself.  Replacing all of the non-DICOM devices for PACS connectivity purposes is simply not cost-effective.  The solution is the TIMS DICOM System.  TIMS converts any non-DICOM medical modality to DICOM.  The resulting digital study can be sent to PACS, recorded to CD/DVD/USB, and printed to film or paper.  TIMS is available for a small fraction of the cost of a modality upgrade.  Yes, TIMS can convert ANY medical modality to DICOM.  This includes ultrasound, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, motion X-ray, angiography, nuclear medicine, MR, CT, and much more.  TIMS captures both static images and streaming video at 30 frames per second, 15 frames per second, or at virtually any frame rate desired.  TIMS even converts to DICOM the JPG, BMP, and AVI images generated in pathology, dermatology, and ophthalmology applications.
