Who Needs TIMS > Microscopy

Microscopy
  • TIMS Improves Workflow: Rather than printing JPG images, the images can be opened in TIMS, saved to DICOM, and sent to PACS for instant digital access on the PACS network.
  • TIMS Improves Efficiency: Rather than printing JPG images, the images can be opened in TIMS, saved to DICOM, and sent to PACS for instant digital access on the PACS network.
  • TIMS Reduces Costs:  Photographic or thermal prints are no longer necessary.

With TIMS, the hospital's microscopy images can now be integrated in the PACS system.  Typically, microscopy images are generated using a video camera attached to a microscope or with a digital camera that stores JPG images.  TIMS interfaces directly to the video camera to capture the images, converts them to DICOM, and sends them to PACS.  With JPG images, TIMS opens the images, converts them to DICOM, and sends them to PACS.  Either way, TIMS is the ideal system to convert microscopy images to DICOM and review and store the images on PACS.
