Often times, hospitals may want to send several studies at one time, or schedule studies to be sent to PACS at the end of day.  With TIMS, multiple studies can be selected from the study list to be sent immediately or the studies can be scheduled to be sent at a future date & time.

Benefit:  With the batch and schedule DICOM send features of TIMS, hospitals can realize the flexibility of optimizing their workflow to their exact needs.  They do not have to send each study immediately after it is performed, but rather can schedule these DICOM sends at any time they would like.  For example, the radiologic technologist can select all of the current day studies to be sent to PACS at 11:00pm, or another period of low network activity.
