In addition to DICOM send, TIMS can receive DICOM studies from any DICOM storage class provider. This includes DICOM modalities as well as PACS systems.
Benefit: With DICOM receive functionality, TIMS can receive studies from DICOM modalities and serve as a central CD/DVD burning station. Or TIMS can be put on a cart to be used as part of a disaster recovery plan to receive from DICOM devices if PACS goes down for any reason.
